PlanningSummit Engineering Corporation provides urban planning services to both public and private clients. We provide land/site planning, master plans, entitlements, expert witness services, approval and permitting processes on many of the largest and most complex projects in the State of Nevada. All of these projects include interaction with Local, State and Federal agencies all of which Summit Engineering Corporation works with on a daily basis. Examples of the numerous projects completed include: Alturas Power Line Summit Engineering Corporation was responsible for the permitting of the Southerly segment of this 345 kv power line. This project was brought to Summit Engineering Corporation after the expenditure of several million dollars by Sierra Pacific Power Company in the environmental permitting process for the total line from Alturas to Reno. All phases were permitted except for the Nevada segment which met with great opposition from local groups. Despite substantial opposition, Summit Engineering Corporation successfully achieved permission from the Federal Highway Administration and a unanimous approval from the Washoe County Commission. Mortensen/Boomtown Summit Engineering Corporation prepared and successfully completed the annexation of 3,000 acres in West Reno (Verdi), in spite of substantial opposition. Summit Engineering Corporation also completed a development standards handbook entitling 3,000 dwelling units and 300 acres of commercial development. Woodland Village Master plan, tentative map and zoning approval for this 2,020 unit residential development located north of the City of Reno. This is an affordable single family detached housing project which has achieved astounding sales over the past few years. D’Andrea Ranch Summit Engineering Corporation provided master plan modifications to the original approval and re-wrote the Development Standards Handbook. The second phase of the project has been submitted to the City of Sparks for review and the first phase is finishing construction. When complete the project will consist of approximately 2,200 units, a championship golf course and all ancillary facilities. Copper Canyon Commerce and Technology Park Summit Engineering Corporation provided the master plan and the Development Standards Handbook for this 1,200+ acre master planned community on the eastern boundary of Sparks, Nevada. The plan came to us after a previous denial by the City. Summit Engineering Corporation achieved approval by the City and is currently awaiting completion of Regional review.
