Community Service
Summit Engineering Corporation has been a successful participant in the growth and development of Nevada. Our owners and employees have committed to be active participants in programs and organizations as a way of improving the communities in which we live.

The following organizations represent the commitment of our firm to community services.

Habitat for Humanity
Summit Engineering Corporation has been the Civil Engineer of Record on each of the 20 houses constructed by the Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity. We are currently providing the same services on their first subdivision of 14 lots known as Mt. Charleston. Our firm has provided services such as land use planning, civil design for construction drawings, geotechnical engineering, surveying, and water rights. Summit Engineering has held a chair on the board of directors of Habitat for the last five years.

Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club
Summit Engineering Corporation has donated services for the last two major expansions of the Boys and Girls club in Reno. Our firm has donated civil design and land use planning for the expansions that have included the addition of a kitchen, two new gymnasiums, ball fields, and office facilities.

The Nevada Land Conservancy
Summit Engineering Corporation has provided services to the Conservancy for work related to the Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway, and more specifically the Mogul-Verdi Bike Link.

In cooperation with other local consultants, Summit Engineering provided topographic mapping and prepared the civil improvement plans for a paved, shared use path within the NDOT right of way from Mogul to Verdi. The Mogul Verdi Bike Link will be the first improved section of the Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway. The Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway is a proposed bicycle route consisting of existing dirt and paved roads, along with some sections of new paths and bridges. The route from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake will ultimately descend some 2000 vertical feet over 116 miles.
