Summit Engineering Corporation has provided Uniform Building Code. 1701 Special Inspection services including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural masonry, structural steel and welding, and fireproofing.

The following reflect some recent projects the Summit Engineering Corporation provided UBC 1701 services:

Lovelock Prison - Summit Engineering Corporation provided full time UBC 1701 inspections for this medium security prison in Lovelock, NV for all phases of construction. The 1701 inspections included precast and cast-in-place concrete, structural steel and structural masonry, welding and precast welding on all security and detention facilities which included 10 structures and 4 guard towers. This work was provided for the Nevada State Public Works Board.

Hampton Inn - Summit Engineering Corporation provided UBC Special Inspection, Civil Design, and Engineer of Record Inspection services for the construction of the world’s largest Hampton Inn. The project consisted of a twenty-six story high rise. The construction was a structural concrete frame with post-tensioned concrete slabs. Steel and welding were used in the stairways, elevators, and porta cochere. Upon completion of the project, the project was certified to the City of Reno.

International Game Technologies - Summit Engineering Corporation provided all the Materials Testing and Special Inspection services for this 1 million square foot project. UBC 1701 Special Inspection Services included reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, welding, high strength bolting, and fireproofing. Summit Engineering Corporation also provided inspection and materials testing for the soils, site work and dedicated improvements.

Sparks Cinemas - This project consisted of 14 separate movie theaters under one roof. The structure is primarily a masonry multi-story complex. UBC 1701 Special Inspection Services included structural masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, welding and high strength bolting.

National Bowling Stadium - Summit Engineering Corporation provided Materials Testing and Special Inspection services for this project on behalf of the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority in Reno, Nevada. The UBC 1701 Special Inspection services included post-tensioned concrete slabs, reinforced concrete, structural steel, welding, high strength bolting, and fireproofing. Summit Engineering Corporation also provided materials testing and inspection for all the dedicated site improvements.

State Farm Multi Regional Stock Facility - Summit Engineering Corporation provided the geotechnical investigation, surveying, materials testing and Special Inspection services for this 200,000 square foot plus structure in south Reno, Nevada. UBC Special Inspection included reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, welding and high strength bolting. Summit Engineering Corporation also provided full time Materials Testing and Inspection for dedicated improvements for the City of Reno.

Fire Station #11 - Summit Engineering Corporation personnel is provided all the Materials Testing and UBC 1701 Special Inspection for the Fire Station #11 in Reno, Nevada. UBC 1701 services included structural masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, fireproofing and high strength bolting.

Boomtown Hotel – Summit Engineering Corporation provided full time UBC 1701 inspection for this 7-story hotel in Verdi, Nevada. We also provided the geotechnical investigation and recommendations, civil design and survey for the structure.

Park Center West – Summit Engineering Corporation provided all Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services for this 3-story concrete tilt-up project in south Reno, Nevada. The inspection included site soils, concrete, and asphalt as well as UBC 1701 inspections on reinforced concrete, structural steel, welding, high strength bolting and fireproofing.

The Home Depot – Summit Engineering Corporation provided all Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services for the Home Depot at Summit Ridge, in Reno, Nevada. UBC 1701 Special Inspection services include reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, high strength bolting, and welding. Summit Engineering Corporation also provided the geotechnical report and all the materials testing for the site work.

D’Andrea Shopping Center– Summit Engineering Corporation provided the soils investigation, civil design, surveying, materials testing and UBC 1701 special inspections for structural steel, structural masonry, and reinforced concrete on this supermarket at the D’Andrea Shopping Center in Sparks, Nevada.

Rolan Melton Elementary School – Summit Engineering Corporation provided the geotechnical investigation, civil design, survey, and materials testing and UBC 1701 special inspection services for this structural masonry school in northwest Reno, Nevada for the Washoe County School District.
